Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year)Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year.
Rosh Hashanah starts the Jewish High Holidays, it is observed for two days on the 1st and 2nd days of the hebrew month of Tishrei. The high holdays conclude with Yom Kippur.
Traditionally 100 sounds are sounded from the shofar. In addition there is a tradition to eat sweet foods as a sign of a sweet New Year including dipping an apple in honey. Other food traditions include eating a new fruit.
A recent custom is that Jews send each other Rosh Hashana cards to wish each other success in the New Year. Send a Rosh Hashanah e Card from JewCards to do this faster, easier and cheaper than sending an actually physical card.
